Is this item of good quality? Very well made. Thick casting with strong locking tabs on the ends.

Is it a must-have? Never try removing the lid without this tool. Sparks can cause an explosion if the seals are leaking. This tool fits tight and locks and unlocks using a large breaker bar or ratchet. So you may use it only once. But it's smarter to do so than bashing on the retainer ring and potentially destroying fuel pump components. Or the tank. The tank BTW is USD 1500. The pump USD 200. But this item. Sturdy, takes a 1/2-inch drive ratchet.

This tool is a MUST if you want to open your fuel tank, fix faulty fuel sensors, Sending Unit, or a fuel sender/floater. When you start opening your fuel tank you will see why, for you need a lot of leverage and force to open pressurized tanks. This tool is ultra heavy duty. You can use a Break-Over Bar. Most of The Truck Fuel pump retaining Rings are the Same Size! So this fuel pump ring can work for many cars. But if your vehicle is not specifically listed in the tool description, please ask us if it will work. Make sure that you measure the diameter of the ring before buying this tool to make sure that it will fit. That said, this is a sturdy tool that will work for the right size ring. Use this and a breaker bar and have covers off in minutes. Most mechanics do not have this tool...only the Dealership and they charge quite a bit more than any Auto Repair Shop.
